Ceramic Shade Lighting with Modern Science Project

Ready to enchant an audience, the charming Prism Mini Solo Sconce seamlessly blends geometric texture with exquisite craftsmanship. A collaboration with California-based Modern Science Project, this striking fixture showcases a handcrafted ceramic shade with a bold faceted design, enhanced by an iridescent multicolor airbrush glaze that shifts beautifully with changing light, revealing soft pastel hues throughout the day.

Paired with finished brass hardware, the Prism Solo Sconce offers a modern yet artistic touch, perfect for accent lighting beside your bed or illuminating a cozy reading nook. Each piece is uniquely handcrafted by the artist, ensuring no two are alike.

Due to its artisanal nature, all sales of Modern Science Project assemblies are final.

    About the Artist

Amanda K. Woodcock is the founder of Modern Science Project, where she blends her expertise as a potter, glass artist, product designer, and mechanical engineer to create funky yet functional iridescent pottery and glassware. Using computer-aided design (not AI!) and 3D printing, she meticulously crafts the forms that shape the molds for each piece. From there, every item is hand-cast, sponged, seamed, glazed, and fired twice, ensuring a truly one-of-a-kind creation. With a passion for innovation and artistry, Amanda’s work brings a playful yet refined touch to everyday objects.
