Shipping Policy
At Color Cord Company, we offer a variety of shipping options to get your order to you as quickly as possible. Please review the following information carefully before placing your order. By making a purchase, you agree to the terms below.

- Made-to-order items ship after a 10–14 business day production window.
- Rush production moves your order up in the production queue and does not include faster shipping; for the quickest lead time, expedited shipping must also be purchased at checkout.
- Standard orders can be cancelled before materials are pulled for production. Rush orders must be cancelled within 24 hours of placement.
- Discount codes must be applied at checkout and cannot be added after an order is placed, shipped, or delivered.
- Free shipping applies to eligible orders $149+ within the contiguous U.S.
- International customers are responsible for all duties, taxes, and import fees.
Order Processing & Production Times
We strive to ship most Ready-To-Ship orders received before 12:00 PM MST (Monday–Friday) within 24 hours. In rare cases—such as during high order volumes, inventory audits, or warehouse closures—orders may take up to 7 business days to ship.
Many of our light fixtures, custom canopies, and whips are handmade to order in Denver, Colorado. These products typically require 10–14 business days for production before shipping. Production lead times are separate from the shipping speed selected at checkout and are listed on each product page. If you are unsure about timing, please contact us prior to ordering.
Shipping Timeframes
We do our best to ship orders promptly; however, we cannot guarantee same-day or next-day shipping. Shipping timeframes are estimates only and are calculated in business days (Monday–Friday). Orders do not deliver on weekends or holidays unless arranged in advance.

Rush Production & Closures
For customers working with tight timelines, we offer rush production on select made-to-order items for an additional fee. Rush production moves your order up in the production queue, but it does not speed up shipping. To achieve the fastest overall lead time, an expedited shipping method must also be selected and purchased at checkout.
Rush Production Tiers
We offer three levels of rush production. Rush pricing varies by product and is shown during the product customization process. Lead times are in business days (Monday–Friday) and begin on the next open business day after your order is placed and confirmed.

Holiday & Facility Closures
Rush production and expedited shipping services are only available on open business days. During holidays, scheduled closures, weather-related interruptions, inventory counts, or any other days when our facility is not operating, all rush and expedited services will begin on the next open business day.
If you have a specific deadline, please reach out before placing your order so we can confirm current production timelines and rush availability.
Order Cancellations
Because many of our products are handmade to order, our ability to cancel depends on where your order is in the production process at the time of your request. Please review the windows below carefully.
Standard Orders
Cancellable any time before materials are pulled for production. Once materials are pulled and building has begun, the order cannot be cancelled. Contact us immediately at info@colorcord.com or 800-409-1070.
Rush Orders
Must be cancelled within 24 hours of placement and before production begins. If cancelled within this window, a full refund including the rush fee is issued. After 24 hours or once production begins, the order cannot be cancelled and the rush fee is non-refundable.
Orders That Cannot Be Cancelled
- Custom-made items (canopies, whips, custom fixtures) — once production has begun
- Bulk orders of 10 or more fixtures — once confirmed
- Cut-to-order lamp cord — once cut
- Orders already shipped
Transfer of Risk & Liability
Once an order leaves our facility, it is under the control of the carrier. All risk of loss, theft, or damage passes to the customer upon the carrier's acceptance of the shipment. Color Cord Company's responsibility is limited to properly packaging and dispatching your order. We are not responsible for lost, delayed, misdelivered, or damaged packages once in the carrier's possession.
Any claims for loss or damage must be filed directly with the carrier. We can provide documentation or shipment details to assist you, but we cannot file or process claims on your behalf.
Address Accuracy & Delivery Issues
Please verify your shipping address carefully before completing checkout. Customers are solely responsible for providing accurate and complete address information. We are not responsible for packages that are lost, delayed, or returned due to incorrect or incomplete addresses provided by the customer.
If a correction or reshipment is possible, the associated fees will be billed to the customer. Once an order has shipped, we cannot make address or service changes.
Carrier Delays & Refunds
Delivery estimates provided at checkout are determined by the carrier and are not guaranteed. Color Cord Company does not issue refunds, replacements, or credits for delays caused by the carrier, including expedited services such as 2-Day or Overnight shipping.
In rare cases, the carrier may approve a claim for Next-Day Air services; such claims must be initiated by the customer directly with the carrier.
Free Shipping Offers
Orders of $149 or more shipping within the contiguous United States qualify for free economy shipping. Free shipping orders are shipped via the most cost-effective method for your location—typically USPS or UPS Ground—and may take 4–8 business days for delivery.
If you require a specific carrier or faster service, please select a paid shipping option at checkout. Free shipping is not available for oversized, fragile, or international shipments.
Basic Economy Shipping (Orders Under $149)
Orders under $149 ship via the most cost-effective method based on size, weight, and destination (typically USPS First Class, FedEx SmartPost, or UPS). Delivery times range from 4–11 business days and are not guaranteed.
UPS/FedEx Ground & Expedited
UPS and FedEx rates are calculated directly by the carrier based on package weight and destination. We do not profit from shipping charges.
Expedited services (e.g., 2-Day or Overnight) are available, but production lead times still apply. Selecting an expedited shipping method does not create a rush order on made-to-order items unless rush production is also purchased. Expedited transit times are business days only and exclude weekends and holidays.
International Orders
We currently ship to the United States, Canada, and Mexico. All international orders ship via UPS, FedEx, or USPS.
Customers are responsible for all customs duties, taxes, brokerage, and import fees, including those charged by the carrier. Color Cord Company is not responsible for delays due to customs inspections, import holds, or carrier issues.
If an international package is rejected, the customer remains responsible for return shipping costs and any associated fees. We do not accept returns for international orders.
All of our products are designed for the North American market. Please confirm electrical compatibility with your local standards before ordering.
Discount Code Policy
We love a good deal as much as anyone, but discount codes must be applied at the time of checkout. Once an order has been placed, shipped, or delivered, we're not able to retroactively apply promo codes or adjust the order total.
If you're ever unsure about how to use a code or want to double-check that it worked, please reach out to us before completing your purchase—we're always happy to help make sure you get the savings you're expecting.
Claims for Lost or Damaged Packages
If your package shows as delivered but you cannot locate it, please:
- Check with neighbors or your local post office.
- Contact the carrier directly using your tracking number.
- If unresolved, reach out to us within 7 days of the marked delivery date so we can help provide documentation for a carrier claim.
All damage or loss claims must be initiated with the carrier. We are unable to replace or refund items until the carrier confirms a claim approval.
Force Majeure & Limitation of Liability
Color Cord Company shall not be liable for delays or failures in performance caused by events beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to weather, natural disasters, labor disruptions, or carrier network outages.
In no event shall Color Cord Company be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from shipping delays, loss, or carrier issues.
