The E12 Shade Ready Socket with extended threads in black is a thermoplastic e12 socket with added threading and a removable shade ring that is the perfect choice for applications where the thickness of your shade is above average. The extended threads give a little extra room. Also available for purchase are extra shade rings to sandwich the shade between.
This socket is intended for candelabra bulbs and is not compatible with standard e26 base bulbs, so be sure to confirm the size of the socket and bulb that you need for your project before ordering. But, if you are working with a chandelier or decorative fixture with an e12 bulb base and a shade, then this is the socket for you!
Strain relief/cord grip is sold separately. Also, please note that these sockets are self-locking. Do not assemble the sockets with the terminal inside before it is wired. The terminal will lock the socket permanently.

I tried pressing it in to engage the molded tabs on the side of the base and of course it shattered. Now I see the brass tab locks into the ratcheting ramps inside the threaded tube. A diagram added to the data sheet would be nice. Ordering replacement.
