UNO Shade Socket for DIY assembly
Our frost white Twist Socket with Ring is a clean simple solution for DIY light fixtures with a UNO shade opening of 1.5 inches. If you need help determining the opening of your shade, check out our Shade Compatibility video.
This is a 2-Conductor cord socket, however it is compatible with our 3-conductor cord if the ground wire is clipped and left unused. The socket is made out of plastic and has a removable ring that will allow you to hang lamp shades with wire and ring interior forms. If you are using this socket with our cloth covered wire, we recommend using a cord grip / strain relief for a secure attachment, sold separately.
Please note that Frost White will not be plain white and will have a frosty pink hue to the color tone. If you would like to assemble a socket and cord for a lighting application, please consult a licensed electrician.
These sockets are self-locking! Do not assemble the sockets with the terminal inside before it is wired. The terminal will lock the socket permanently. Check out the following how-to video on assembly. The Twist socket will be shown last in the order of sockets so you can skip ahead.

That this socket is not quite like the ones in the how-to videos (no ground wire, etc.) sparked some anxiety -- but it turned out just fine. Luckily, Mika had explained via email how to trim the ground wire, and I just found the most nearly comparable video from among those there. Now that it's all assembled, I love the fixture!
